The article focuses on Kristi Yamaguchi, the skating gold medallist at the Olympics, who made her way on the front of Special K, Kellogg's Co.'s cereal boxes with her photograph on them. The company, a sponsor of both the U.S. Figure Skating Association and the Olympics, had photographed her in advance wearing the costume she appeared in during the final round of the competition. Yamaguchi is the only athlete to grace a Special K box. Advertising executive Jennie Tong feels that she has great appeal with Asian-Americans who tend to be very proud of people who have made it good in America.
